Every week we carve out time for exercise, business meetings, and favorite TV shows.
So why should God be any different? Of course carving time to meet with God is of
greater importance than a favorite TV show, but it seems if we do not carve the time out,
we do not keep the time. God wants us to take time out of our busy week, slow ourselves down
and meet with Him (Matthew 11:28-30) in praise and worship. The United Methodist Church of Le Mars (UMCL)
would like to offer a time that you can carve out every week.
Two times and two ways to meet with and give your praise to God are offered.
| Sunday 9:00 AM |
If you can roll out of bed early, the 9am service is fitting.
Lasting about 45 minutes, the feel at 9am is quiet and traditional, like a small
church or chapel service.
The piano accompanies the hymns, and there are about 40-70 people attending.
Giving your time to God should be an expression that best fits you.
If your best time of the day is early morning, you like a quiet atmosphere, and you feel
more comfortable in a smaller crowd, then 8am is the service for you.
Many who come enjoy 9am, because most of their morning is still free, and their day has
been given a good start with the Lord.

| Sunday 10:30 AM |
If you are not an early morning person, the 10:30am service is fitting.
The feel at 10:30am service, which lasts around an hour, is still traditional but with a larger crowd.
The traditional hymns are led by an organ, and with over 150 believers singing, you are able to
lift high your voice in praise to God. Giving your time to God is less than connective
if you are half asleep. So, if mid-morning is your time to shine then the 10:30am service
fits your expression. Those who come to the 10:30am service like the aspect of having
plenty of time to get ready and a welcoming environment to have their children bustling around.
For active families and larger crowds, 10:30am seems to fit well. |
Both worship services offer to God our interactive prayers, children’s moments, scripture readings,
preaching, offering, contemplative time, singing, communion once a month and Christian fellowship.
Childcare is available during worship services for children, 1st grade and younger.
You are more than welcome and even expected at UMCL at 9:00 AM or 10:30 AM on Sunday morning. Godspeed.
